Dear Friends,
The moment you decide to start practicing yoga and meditation, you begin navigating the pathway to your spirit where, at this moment, you exist in a state of perfect peace, love and bliss.
Yoga is the art and science that gives this pathway towards unity a context. After spending time as first an investment banker and then an art gallery owner, I then dedicated my life to spirituality.
My teachers have come in many forms and in many contexts, including ashrams and temples in India, Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayas of Bhutan, as well as with spiritual teachers from the United States. My formal board-certified Yoga Teacher Training and Advanced Teacher Training were both completed through the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers in India and the Bahamas.
I continue to study Integrative Restoration Yoga Nidra meditation with Dr. Richard Miller from the Center of Timeless Being, where I am the Director of Research, a position that gives me the opportunity to help other Integrative Restoration teachers develop their teaching and research opportunities. I am currently working together with psychologists at the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on clinical trials testing the effects of Integrative Restoration Yoga Nidra meditation on veterans healing from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
I also teach weekly Integrative Restoration meditation classes to inpatient veterans healing from PTSD and substance abuse dependencies, as well as a wheel-chair yoga class to senior citizen veterans in the VA Nursing Home. The veterans give true hope that everyone, despite their physical or psychological challenges, can rise above their circumstances and life experiences to discover a state of peace and happiness.
With peace and love always,
